BLOOD PRESSURE CONTROL WITH BENSON RELAXATION TECHNIQUE IN HYPERTENSIVE PATIENTS

Introduction: A person who has high blood pressure sometimes difficulty controlling pressure. As a result of uncontrolled will cause various complications. Efforts that may be made to control and avoid depression can done by using non-pharmacological techniques, one which is relaxation techniques. To find out before after Benson's technique carried in patients with hypertension. Methods: The research design used was quasy experimental, where there were 2 groups, namely the treatment group group. population people hypertension 38 respondents simple random sampling technique. Respondents divided into groups. Insresearch instruments observation sheets Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS). Statistical test wilcoxone Signed Rank Test. Results: It found 19 (100%) have decreased levels. In or did not do Benson technique, decrease as many 9 (47%). (GDS) value known 34 (89%) fall category mild score 10-19, intervention 18 (95%) 16 (84%). on obtained p = 0.000 shows influence hypertensive patients. Conclusions:Benson's regularly help lower provide muscles so reduce muscle tension, stress calm mind.
